Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX5 Review
The robust point-and-shoot segment was mainly Olympus “game two years ago. But since last year, more manufacturers have served their own hard shooters. Remarkably, it was Panasonic, which had the most aggressive – the Lumix DMC-FT2 Hardy specifications next Olympus Mju Tough proved flagship 8010th While Canon and Fujifilm has release almost similar offerings, they were just not as robust as the Panasonic or Olympus units.
Earlier this year Sony announced the Cyber-shot DSC-TX5, a stylish-looking rugged point-and-shoot that the company claims the slimmest in the world. The TX5 looks like other T TX Series cameras with a sliding front cover and touch screen operation, but it is waterproof, shockproof and resistant. Here are our thoughts after some time with this gate.

Design
Unlike other robust cameras, the rugged and masculine look TX5 offers a slim case and rounded edges radiate that style. This is a point-and-shoot that both water and looks good at a party.
The operation of the TX5 was no problem for us because we had previous experience with Sony’s touch-screen shooter. Use it in water, however, was a different experience. It was easier to navigate the menus, and we did not have the LCD harder than usual bag. Since most features are shooting in the fashion option, it took us only two presses to change from program mode to handheld Twilight or other capture settings. However, you will want a hand loop in the implementation of the Cyber-shot underwater world and its smooth surface makes it a little difficult to use to grip properly.
Features
Among other things, robust cameras, the TX5 the only one with a backside-illuminated CMOS image sensor, such as the R from Sony Exmor known. This means the shooter has other useful features such as panoramic sweep and Handheld Twilight.
The TX5 is rated to be shockproof to 1.5m, but according to the manual, which is applicable only if dropped on a 5 cm thick piece of plywood board. Each manufacturer has its own methods for measuring the toughness, and if the point-and-shoot is damaged by events not compliant with the tests, will void the warranty.

Like other TX series cameras, the TX5 has some nice shots options. The panoramic sweep to capture the pan-shooter on the scene to a large panoramic photo, and it works for both vertical and horizontal shots. The handheld Twilight snaps several pictures in low light environments in quick successions and the gate will be combined into one image. Both features worked well on land and under water, although it is difficult to get your body lift to still stay in the water, while the panning shot.
Initially, we had our reservations about a rugged, touchscreen camera. We were concerned that the large display can be easily scratched or had the worst cracked when we dropped it. Maybe you want more attention to the protection of the LCD, as the most sensitive part of the point-and-shoot’s, of course, that it covers almost the entire back of property.

Performance
The TX5 lasted little more than a second power to the outlet. Shutter approximately 0.1 and 0.5 seconds, with and without prefocusing, measured.
The autofocus was zippy in our tests, locks on our issues quickly and accurately. It is a 10fps burst mode option in the TX5 and according to Sony, it deals a “mechanical shutter to avoid distortion in the image. When we pressed the shutter button to this option, a flood of clicks were heard and 10 pictures were snapped at full resolution. This option is great if you fast-moving subjects or sports are, whether through the 4x optical zoom range would be limited.
