Nikon 50mm f/1.4G SIC SW Prime Nikkor Lens Review
It’s about time for the fixed focal length Nikon developed this new line of Nikon DSLR Nikon and what did was this lens in the 50mm AF-D that do not have auto-focus function, not for their new camera line, the concentration of motor replace, requires the development of part of the lens.
Finally, on September 22, 2008, Nikon introduced the first prime lens with Silent Wave motor in. I was very excited when the news and immediately placed a preorder with Adorama.com At this time there was very little information is built over the lens in addition to the Nikon press release. All indictione pointed to a superior product, even it’s predecessor, the 50mm f/1.4 AF-D.

Advantages of a fixed focal length
The advantages of this are its speed fixed focal length (f 1.4) and is therefore very ability to be used in low-light situations. Advanced photographers prefer the 50mm because they impose discipline, as a zoom requires experience. This 50mm includes 9 ’rounded’ membranes for its opening resulting very pleasing, “natural” or background out of focus bokeh effect. This can be very effective for portraits or even close up shots.

Focusing
The lens can be changed from auto focus to manual override () only with the rotation of the focus ring. You need to turn the focus ring, while the shutter button half way down. You can also press the AF-ON button overrides set if the camera is so equipped. This is useful if you find your camera “hunt” for focus, or whether they simply did not focus on the object you intend to. You still have manual switch settings, you can simply change and get on the M A option. You can switch back to autofocus mode, by pressing shutter button halfway. You can leave the camera to manual focus by switching to the M option.
Personally, I find the autofocus is fast enough for me, although I’ve heard that many have complained about this lentils ability to fast focusing. I know it will not be as fast as their professional objectives, but it pleases me well and I did not miss a shot or not to be disappointed with this aspect.
This lens will be at 1.5 meters and works quite well for close-ups and landscapes, but distinguishes itself with the art of portraiture.

Image quality
What can I say, the quality is the Nikkor line I’ve used in the past to stand in line. I do not have the science to back up my observations, just my eyes. Then it struck the press release from Nikon, the “out of focus background elements” have much more natural look and I find that to be true. Again, I have heard from others that the evaluations Bokeh not live up to their expectations from the press. The color is vivid and balanced. Images have a lot of resolution and are much more sharply.
This lens uses the latest technology or Nikkor optical formula correct sagittal coma flare and coma aberration. They also use SIC (Super Integrated Coatings on) to suppress this and improve the color balance.
